Chromista is a kingdom that contains mostly algae, such as the diatoms (Bacillariophyceae) and the brown algae (Phaeophyceae). The former are forming minute pieces of art with their tests that often posess symmetrical ridges, holes etc., while the latter contain the worlds largest algae (kelp) that forms unique marine ecosystems, the kelp forests.
